Module 1/ AT Home within myself

Do I feel at home within myself? What is my basic feeling of security and belonging? Is my family of origin a positive ressource for me? How can I today create a warm home? Have I developed a healthy core from which I can enter into contact with the world?

In the first module workshops we will explore our basic programming that arose during our early childhood bonding process and determine to what extent it influences the degree of intimacy and authenticity in our relationships today. How is a fear of bonding expressed, and what is the balance between giving and taking within the context of relationships? We will explore the deep roots of fear in our lives, strengthen our contact with ourselves and experiment with how we can unfold our own expression in life.

Module 2: “AT Home in the World”

Do I feel at home in my home country? How do I relate to Germany after the experiences during the Third Reich, during the war, in divided Germany? How can I feel at home in a world that is changing rapidly through the climate crisis and technology? And how can I, as a local citizen, develop a global awareness?

In the workshops of the second module we will focus on the global context and span the range from home country to home planet: The changes in the world confront us with collective traumatizations at many different levels.

Large Group Process: Topic East-West

3:30pm – 5:30pm, Main Hall

This workshop is conceived as an East-West dialog about unconscious dynamics from the time when Germany and Europe were divided.

How does what used to be a divided Germany affect the present? How are different influences and values still today reflected in the interactions between individual and collective?

In guided large group processes, small group work and Voice Dialogues, we become aware of nuanced differences and explore how we can use traumatizations for a collective learning process. We will reflect on how opportunities can arise from injuries, thus increasing resilience.

At Home in the World / Global Citizenship

10:30am – 1:30pm

Flows of information at lightning speed, mobility, technology … our neighbors live all over the world. A global village has arisen. Social and religious conditionings that separate no longer make sense. The collective development requires us to be able to act as a global unit. A new evolutionary necessity has arisen: Collaboration instead of alienation.

In the workshop we will deal with our role as global citizens and explore our fears and hopes and the responsibility that goes with them. When are we overburdened or dismissive, and when are we excited and inspired? Have we found our place in the new forms of society or do we feel homeless? Can we authentically live our purpose and make a meaningful contribution in the world?

Climate Lab – A guided exploration journey with Thomas Hübl, Karen O’Brien & Andrea Steckert

“How can I/we relate to climate change and be a creative, active part in a powerful growing movement for a sustainable culture and future?”

In this lab we will and engage and activate CLF participants to relate to climate change in a different way. Through experiential exercises and group activities, we will explore the relationship between individual and collective change. Highlighting the role of emotions, somatic experience, and perspective change, we invite participants to step out of their comfort zone and uncover their greatest potential for activating and accelerating the transformations that are called for in response to climate change.

Focus: Social Issues and environmental issues

Goal: Engaging and activating the CLF-participants in climate change in a different way. Finding own resources in resonance.

Module 3: “At Home in God”

Can I leave the map behind and be at home in the present? Do I have access to the mystical space of consciousness in which I am living my life? Am I leading an inspired, creative and innovative life in this inner connection? Is “the Sacred” a part of my resources in life?

In the workshops of the third module, we will experiment with the possibilities of how to lead an essential life that arises from the original creativity of the Universe. We will explore to what extent we feel embedded in the larger context and how we can use a spiritual practice as a resource for our daily challenges.

Can I be at home in stillness, in presence, for example in meditation or prayer? And can I find home in an inner connection, in the deepening of my inspiration? To what extent do I feel at home in the changing movement of life?

Through meditation, exchange and talks, and by going inside we will explore finding home in God as an immanent and transcendent power, access to innovation and inspiration, as well as to the principle of divine effectiveness.

We think of home as a safe place to “be”.  Yet, to be at home and safe in ourselves-to “be”- requires intimacy within. The conditions of our early life –from before conception and all throughout childhood-are foundational to the ability to develop this abiding sense of safety.  Attuned, responsive and consistently loving relationships are required. Yet, most people today carry trauma from adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) –like physical or emotional abuse or neglect, sexual abuse and family conditions like alcohol or drug abuse, parental divorce, death of a parent or violence in the home.  These conditions can pass down through generations and are socially conditioned responses that both reflect and perpetuate the larger trauma held in the world.

Without the buffering love brings, ACEs have a profound impact on brain and nervous system development, the formation of our identities and sense of possibility in life and even our genetic expression. Using our lived experiences as the main curriculum, this workshop will review the science of ACEs and resilience and introduce breakthroughs in neuroscience and epigenetics that bring hope for healing and restoration no matter how old we are.

The science helps us make sense of our pain and shows that not only is healing possible, but it is inevitable when we open with intention, allow ourselves to see and be seen and restore the broken relatedness we lacked.  Echoing what awakened people throughout all time have taught us, we are wired for love, healing and home within a resonant self that moves with life despite the adversities we may have experienced and that are present in the world today.

Climate change: It’s a relationship problem

Thursday, August 1
10:30am – 1.30pm
Main Hall

In this morning session, we will focus on the latest science on climate change and discuss its implications for both nature and society. Though the science is sobering, it shows that there is a dramatic difference between a global warming of 1.5C versus 2C, 3C, or more.

The question we will next explore is not whether, but how we can transform at the rate, scale, speed and depth that is called for by global change research. We will consider relationships among the practical, political, and personal spheres of transformations.

Shifting the focus from “climate change as an environmental problem” to “climate change as a relationship problem,” we will consider how both wider and deeper responses can contribute to the transformations needed to create a flourishing home on this planet.

The Universe as Mystical Home – Video talk and dialogue between Brian Thomas Swimme and Thomas Hübl

Saturday, August 3
3:30pm-5:30pm
Main Hall

All human cultures have devoted significant time to the challenge of understanding the nature of existence. Identified variously as contemplation, prayer, meditation, or mystical absorption, these traditional modes of investigation gave rise to all the great spiritual traditions of our planet.

Very recently, a new pathway for examining the universe appeared in Southern Europe, what we came to call the scientific method. In the first centuries of its existence, the stunning successes of science weakened the authority of a large number of faith traditions. But things are changing.

All of us now live in the exciting time when we begin to see a profound resonance between the mystical principles derived from contemplative investigation and the foundational theories of mathematical science.

Brian Thomas Swimme will explore these ideas in conversation with Thomas and assembled participants.

Ken Wilber is a preeminent scholar of the Integral stage of human development. He is an internationally acknowledged leader, founder of Integral Institute, and co-founder of Integral Life and is the originator of the world’s first truly comprehensive or integrative philosophy, aptly named “Integral Theory”.

Ken Wilber is a preeminent scholar of the Integral stage of human development. He is an internationally acknowledged leader, founder of Integral Institute, and co-founder of Integral Life.

He is the most widely translated academic writer in America, with 25 books translated into some 30 foreign languages. Ken Wilber currently lives in Denver, Colorado, and is still active as a philosopher, author, and teacher, with all of his major publications still in print.

Ken is the originator of the world’s first truly comprehensive or integrative philosophy, aptly named “Integral Theory”. As Wilber himself puts it: “I’d like to think of it as one of the first believable world philosophies” — something that is becoming increasingly necessary in order to navigate and thrive in today’s world.

Incorporating cultural studies, anthropology, systems theory, developmental psychology, biology, and spirituality, Integral Theory has been applied in fields as diverse as ecology, sustainability, psychotherapy, psychiatry, education, business, medicine, politics, sports, and art.

Wilber explains the need for an Integral Approach in the following way: In our current post-modern world, we possess an abundance of methodologies and practices belonging to a multitude of fields and knowledge traditions. What is utterly lacking however, is a coherent organization, and coordination of all these various practices, as well as their respective data-sets. What is needed is an approach that moves beyond this indiscriminate eclectic-pluralism, to an “Integral Methodological Pluralism” — driving toward a genuine “theory of everything” that helps to enrich and deepen every field through an understanding of exactly how and where each one fits in relation to all the others.

In short, the Integral Approach is the coherent organization, coordination, and harmonization of all of the relevant practices, methodologies, and experiences available to human beings. Through the Integral approach, we reveal the previously unseen possibilities for a better, more compassionate, and more sustainable future for all of us.

Ken Wilber is also the founder of the Integral Institute, which is the first organization fully dedicated to advancement and application of the Integral Approach in relation to contemporary global issues. It was formed in collaboration with over 200 scholars and experts, specializing in education, politics, business, medicine, psychology, spirituality, as well as, law and criminal justice.

In 2007 Wilber co-founded Integral Life, a social media-hub dedicated to sharing the integral vision with the world wide community, as well as documenting and catalyzing the progress of the integral movement.

“I have one major rule: Everybody is right. More specifically, everybody — including me — has some important pieces of truth, and all of those pieces need to be honored, cherished, and included in a more gracious, spacious, and compassionate embrace.” KEN WILBER

We, the children of the cold war. Looking for the best in East and West

Workshop with Barbara von Meibom & Sven Werchan

Wednesday, July 31
3:30pm – 15:30pm

Tao Room

There has been much talk about war children and war grandchildren. We thereby usually think of the consequences of the “Thousand-Year Reich.” We often overlook the fact that there are generations of children of the Cold War, i.e. people who grew up with the East-West split in their own country.

There is a growing awareness that this has led to deep splits to this day. They have to do with breaches of identity, feelings of having lost one’s homeland, but also with ideological overloading, family traumas and a persistent lack of knowledge about one another. This legacy is sharpened by a sustained prosperity gap and by how the reunification of the two German parts took place after 1989. These upheavals are blocking the success of the integration and synthesis of East and West.

During the workshop there will be the opportunity to encounter the different narratives mindfully and to seek ways to bring about a successful synthesis of East and West.

Unresolved traumas and injuries that arose through the processes of division and reunification are still waiting to be brought to light in a mindful way. In the spirit of Bernie Glassmann Roshi this requires an attitude of not knowing, the willingness to question one’s own perceptions and witness the perceptions of others. Only on this basis can healing occur through “loving action.”

The workshop helps come in contact with blocked energies and pave the road for productive interactions.

“What moves you, moves me too!”

This holistic approach offers an intuitive and psychic connection through being in resonance and leads to an intimate and soulful piece of work, reinforcing your power to achieve your next goal.
This method works with the physical body’s capacity to store information, express emotion and transform inner patterns through movement, breath and voice.

The process makes visible the unconscious, obstructive aspects of your problem, the inherent solution and offers a new approach, which will then consciously be integrated.

“Samskaras”, in the Indian philosophy, are the sum of all mental, physical and psychological impressions left by all thoughts, actions and intents that an individual has ever experienced. They are below the level of normal consciousness and are said to be the root of all impulses, as well as our innate dispositions.

With Samskara, Avishai Darash invites the listener to join him and  on a musical journey discovering and exploring the inner world of the own hidden Samskara treasures.

Anything is possible.
Always. You just have to allow it, be open to it and not think everything up in advance. Exactly this is the attitude in which the songs of Graziella Schazad are created. With a lot of courage, newly won self-confidence and an almost childlike trust in her music, her songs, but also in herself.

Anything is possible.
Always. You just have to allow it, be open to it and not think everything up in advance. Exactly this is the attitude in which the songs of Graziella Schazad are created. With a lot of courage, newly won self-confidence and an almost childlike trust in her music, her songs, but also in herself.

Graziella has already released 2 albums, her debut album “Feel Who I Am” ( Warner Music / 2010) and her second album “India” ( Sony Music / 2014 ). Both albums sketch the strong personality of the artist Graziella. It’s partly a story of her inner turmoil, a turmoil based on her difficult family circumstances, with which she deals extensively and successfully in her songs. “I have something destructive in me; a fear of injury, which I also put into my music. But my own little family has given me a lot of strength in recent years, and that strength is in every single one of my songs.”

In fact, Graziella is full of joy and hope because she gave birth to her second child in 2017. She enjoys motherhood. Here she draws energy, confidence and creativity for her new songs, because the new album is already in the planning phase.

She now appears occasionally at some events, because the live stage is her second home.

Ecstatic Dance with DJ Vesica

Monday, July 30
9:00pm
Main Hall

Ecstatic Dance is a free “dance ritual” that already has a large fan base all over the world. Come as you are, move as you like!
The two-hour DJ set from Vesica invites you on a journey… there are 2 “waves”: it starts slowly… at some point it becomes “ecstatic” and in the end you land softly again.

We dance without shoes, alcohol, drugs, cameras, mobile phones and without talking.

Boundaries: Pay attention to where yours begin and end – and also those of others. If you want to dance with someone, find out if he or she wants to dance with someone. Only then will you dance together!

* From al-Andalus (711-1492) we know the richness of a multicultural society of Muslims, Christians and Jews in Spain lasting for 800 years.

* The poetry of the great Sufipoets Rumi, Hafis, al-Ansari among others is brought into the present in the original Persian poetry as well as in german interpretations.

Once we have entered into contact with Transparent Communication according to Thomas Hübl®, we see that it is simply a method of communication. However, in time, it can become an inner attitude, a path in life and a journey toward awakening to an ever-higher level of awareness.

Susanne Ahlendorf, Markus Hirzig and Axel Perinchery are leading the workshops on Transparent Communication this year.

Susanne Ahlendorf, Markus Hirzig and Axel Perinchery are leading the workshops on Transparent Communication this year.

Once we have entered into contact with Transparent Communication according to Thomas Hübl®, we see that it is simply a method of communication. However, in time, it can become an inner attitude, a path in life and a journey toward awakening to an ever-higher level of awareness.

In the workshops we will identify and deepen the principles of Transparent Communication and use them to develop our communicative and spiritual competence practically.

By entering into ever deeper relationship, Transparent Communication gives rise to a great power of transformation. We deepen our contact with ourselves by refining and expanding our perception in our physical bodies, in the emotional inner world and in our thinking. This produces an ever more complex holistic contact – with ourselves, our partners and the world. Our competence to listen and feel can be substantially expanded. Unintegrated parts can become conscious through this kind of perception, and contact can be made with them.

Everything that enters into relationship can heal.

Susanne Ahlendorf has her own psychotherapeutic practice in Frankfurt am Main. She has been leading groups since 1998 on topics such as stress management, integral personality and consciousness development, meditation and contemplation.

Susanne is a Trainer for Transparent Communication according to Thomas Hübl® and educates at the Academy of Inner Science
practice group leaders. She is also available as a trainer in the educational context and the research group Mysticism & Healing.
She assisted the Timeless Wisdom Training 1, 2 and 4 and has been in the training of the assistance group by Thomas Hübl since 2007.

With her work Susanne wants to remember the deepest values in our human hearts and at the same time give impulses for cultural implementation and transformation.

Axel Perinchery is trainer for Transparent Communication according to Thomas Hübl®, Intercultural communication and integral consciousness development.

Axel is active in his own psychotherapeutic practice, works internationally as a life coach and educates at the Academy
of Inner Science Practice Group Leaders in Transparent Communication. As an assistant he learns and accompanies the work of Thomas Hübl.

Axel would like to contribute to the next step of consciousness which is waiting for us as individuals and as a society to venture into unknown territory. He describes himself as a “sacred activist”, because he wants to combine divine connectedness with civil society and political commitment. The movement “Citizen is Present”, which he initiated, is an expression of this.

Transparent Communication according to Thomas Hübl®  “Finding home in God – Resting in the presence of silence”

From the space of silence, we listen to the world and let it unfold naturally. We play along without interfering.

How can we remain present and retain our relatedness by internalizing Transparent Communication, also in challenging situations?

What is getting in our way to find a deeper sense of home within us?

We all have a longing to come home and find a sense of home within ourselves. At the same time, that is often especially difficult. During our time together we want to use our curiosity to explore what is getting in our way from doing so, and in this way come into contact with the intelligence that is operating within us. This gives us access to how we relate to ourselves and shows us how the way we relate to ourselves impacts our lives.

Challenges in parenting and partnerships as a spiritual practice

What if we truly stop seeing our so “exhausting partnership” and our “difficult children” as problems and instead regard them as invitations to engage fully in life? What happens if the problems and our engaging with them does not hinder our spiritual practice, but specifically becomes the focus of our practice?

This is often clear to us in theory, and yet everyday life keeps creeping up on us. In the workshop we will explore practical ways that can help us access and feel this new practice more deeply.

At home in the web of life

Sunday, July 28
3:30pm -5:30pm
Tao Room

In this workshop we offer an embodied experience of relating with the energy of the ancestors, through movement, expression and interaction.

We will move through different layers of our ancestor’s lines, focusing on meeting the resourcing, supportive and healthy elements present in the ancestral field, reconnecting with the strength and wisdom that has been present in the past as a way to open spaces for healing traumatic and incomplete places – in the ancestral field and in the present moment.

We will use elements of Systemic Ritual, Constellation and Trauma Healing to enter the ancestor’s field while including the present moment experience of being in the body – through awareness of sensations, emotions and cognition – creating a direct experience of being an inherent part of the whole web of life.

This is going to be a collective and interactive exploration where everyone participates, following one´s own rhythm while sharing and creating a common field of reconnection. By relating to the past as a vital part of our present experience we receive support for the creation of a fresh future.

The workshop with Heidi Wohlhüter & Anne Huhn is devoted to our inner understanding of home and the experience of individual and collective pain caused by loss and being uprooted.

Heidi Wohlhüter has for many years been working as a psychotherapist in a clinic and in private practice, supervising colleagues and treatment teams, and she educates and trains psychotherapists.

In workshops and seminars she devotes herself to the development of potential and the topic of healing in the broadest sense.

She is a Senior Assistant and accompanies the Timeless Wisdom Training for the second time. She is also a member of the research group “Mysticism and Healing.”

“Nurturing the female and finding home in oneself and in life” – this was Anne’s heart’s desire when she set out more than 25 years ago. She sees her work as soulful body work or, the other way around, as embodied soul work. Here, entry gateways are created for inner, sensual experience, and spaces are opened to explore experiencing the body from within.

She has developed a spiral path in which she accompanies women on their journey toward coming home sensually in their bodies and developing their female presence. Healing the female and reconnecting with the experience of being embedded in the encompassing, everlasting continuum of life are especially close to her heart.

embody your soul – an exploration for women

Monday, July 29
3:30pm -5:30pm
Tao Room

Together, we immerse ourselves in the infinite expanse of the inner, liquid realm of our bodies. Breath, sounds, flowing spiral and wave movements, as well as the so-called micro-movements – small, fine, gentle movements – accompany us. In this way we promote and refine our ability to experience sensuously. Blockages melt away, tensions are relieved, and energies start to flow. We become soft, supple and alive. We can feel our deep connection with the original, creative force that has brought us to life. We come home in who we are, deeper and deeper – at home in ourselves; at home in the world.

Please bring a yoga mat and/or blanket, a large towel tight rolled and a pillow – if needed!

Contact Improvisation – dance as a possibility of being home

Workshop with Barbara Pfundt

Saturday, August 3
3:30pm -5:30pm
Tao Room

Contact Improvisation is a dance form that concentrates on the communication of two (or more) bodies in motion.

The point of contact is giving us the impulse for movement and is the starting point for playful exploration of possibilities. Every movement arises from the careful feeling of being together. This requires a growing awareness of the dancer for himself, the moment, the dance partner and all the other components in the room.

It’s about the ability to be in the here and now, to wake up for the moment, to following impulses spontaneously, to discover the unknown, to throw patterns overboard, to surprise oneself, to risk balancing acts etc.

According to the topic “home”, it is also about issues such as:
What layer of being home in my body is possible for me?
– What does arriving in my body mean for me?
– What  is changing in me if I allow myself to get in touch with the other person from  an inner contact with myself?
– and how does this change the dancing and my feeling to be in life?

We will explore this and other issues in an attentive field, playing, romping, rolling, flying, melting … with each other. with and in our bodies and in the interplay of depth and lightness. Let’s enjoy!

This expresses itself in theater productions with youth as well as working with people with Parkinsons and cancer. His most recent piece deals with the emotional epigenetic inheritance from our ancestors, and received the German national youth dance prize in Berlin.

Body-Mind Awakening: Movement in the Morning with Gary Joplin

daily
7:00am-7:50am
Main Hall

The Body-Mind Awakening Training from Gary Joplin is a daily invitation to deepen the connection between the physical, mental and energetic bodies, and an opportunity to more deeply ground and then open the body, both physically and energetically.  Flowing, harmonious movement sequences supported by conscious breathing patterns are combined in a playful, organic way, allowing the body to simultaneously become more deeply grounded and to expand.

This work is based primarily on the principles of Gyrokinesis®, but also utilizes wisdom from yoga, Feldenkreis, and various dance forms.  It is a great preparation for the morning meditation, as it not only fine-tunes the physical body, but also brings a heightened awareness to the subtle energy body while focusing and quieting the mind.  Participants will leave the class feeling more grounded and alive with a new-found lightness and sense of bodily expansion.

Identification, attachment and what we call home                  Workshop with Tobias Konermann & Kirsten Timmer

Thursday, August 1
3:30pm-5:30pm
Pavillon

Our identification with beliefs about the world, people and ourselves, enables us as children to find orientation and survive in the face of developmental challenges and trauma. What we call home, often is a product of what we identify as familiar or normal to us. Yet, when does the clinging to these belief systems get in the way to expand our core energy? And when do identifications stand between us and being present in this world?

In this workshop, we highlight key mechanisms in the attachment process around shame and guilt, which are still active in our adult lives. We offer ways to explore, how we can move towards stability and belonging in relating to what is present in the here and now.

As the team of Witnessing-in-Empathy, Monika Messner, Stefan Beier & Stefan Enzler report about retreats at the former Nazi extermination camp Auschwitz and will share their experiences with the participants.

Monika Messner is a midwife and yoga teacher and has been accompanying women and their partners*in a “baby-friendly hospital” in the birth process for 25 years.

She is a participant in the German Coregroup of Thomas Hübl and the international Pocket Project. Since 2014 she has been an active member of the W.E. team, has been four times with groups in Auschwitz/ Oswiecim in Poland and is mainly responsible for the travel organisation besides the facilitating on site.

Her greatest wish is to bring people of different national and religious origins together for common witnessing on the spot and thus to enable a restoration of the relationship.

Stefan Beier is a body and movement therapist and men’s coach his in own practice in Berlin, focussing on individual and couple counselling, team coaching and men’s work. Furthermore he works as a men’s health expert in Dresden.

Working with Thomas Hübl since 2002, and assistant since 2007, he is increasingly fascinated by the transformative power of simple, awake encounters between Me and You. This essential practice is a key part of the Auschwitz retreats he started creating 2013.

He is especially interested to confront himself with the perpetrator’s energies and not to shy away from the fascinating aspects in it.

For 25 years Stefan Enzler has been creating rooms for transformation, to enable people in organizations to create a healthy, creative, successful and self-dependent development in times of increasing change and requirements. In order to achieve these goals, Stefan combines calmness, personal presence, relationship skills and intuition with evolutionary approaches to management which are connected to daily life topics.
Since 2014 he organizes in the W.E.-Team group tours to Auschwitz, to create a conscious engagement with the holocaust. During these visits to Auschwitz, this place of deep inhumanity, Stefan aims to create a conscious, open hearted compassion, close human contact and mutual support that goes beyond personal lifelines, religion and other references of identification.

Witnessing in Empathy: Retreats in Auschwitz

Are we at home in our collective past, even if it was horrible? The team of Witnessing-in-Empathy will report from retreats held in the former Nazi death camp Auschwitzand will take the audience into a taste of the experiences made there.

Cognitively everyone knows lots about the holocaust, but when it comes to emotions our systems often shut down in the face of the inconceivable, un-nameable horror. After many years of training in subtle competencies with Thomas Hübl a team formed to explore a different approach. We wanted to confront ourselves with visiting Auschwitz – and staying despite of the emotional shut down, giving ourselves to whatever happens there, whatever energy turns up, whatever emotion arises. With time we realised to be opening up again – for tears, for rage, for fear, for shame, for arrogance, for love, for courage.

Out of those moving experiences group journeys to Auschwitz were developed with a simple, but deeply human approach: witnessing in empathy. Since it is often hard to bear, it’s essential not to be alone. Together we witness the place and its energies and we witness what happens within ourselves, supported by the group as a strong container.

Testimonials of participants in the former journeys can be found on: www.witnessing-in-empathy.org

Creating the imprint of home in embodied and playful communication  with Manda Johnson & Ingrid Pickel

This workshop opens a space beyond habit and judgment. We improvise with movement, sound and word.

We expand our perception physically, emotionally and mentally. Perceiving the impulses of your body-mind, following your movements in space and time, you find your self-expression, spontaneous, lively and coherent. Moment to moment, this creates the encounter with yourself and with others, with the inner and the outer world.

You open the focus of your attention and stay more precisely in the present moment. You listen to your intuition: what is your truth now, what wants to be expressed now? You recognize patterns, refine and change them. You play with rhythms of movements and sounds, hearing them connecting and developing. You give space to STILLNESS. You feel the subtle web of interconnection between you and the others.

Together, we explore embodied ways of communicating and possibilities of an emerging WE- space.
