Dr. Scilla Elworthy holds a PhD in political science and is the former Director of the Oxford Research Group (ORG), which she founded in 1982 to analyze how and by whom nuclear weapons decisions are made worldwide. It is for this work that she was awarded the Niwano Peace Prize in 2003 and nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize.

She then founded Peace Direct, which grew out of ORG’s conflict prevention work. She has been a consultant to UNESCO as well as research director for Minority Rights Group, before she managed a self-help organization in Africa. She is the author of many books and reports on defense and security issues and a gifted public lecturer in Europe, the United States, Russia, China and Japan.

Tom Steininger, PhD. Phil., studied philosophy at Vienna University and teaches today a university study course on Conscious Evolution in Connecticut, USA. He is director of the EnlightenNext centre in Frankfurt, Germany, and chief editor of the German edition of the magazine of the same name as well as long-standing collaborator of Andrew Cohen. His thesis deals with the relationship of the evolution of consciousness and social evolution with focus on Ken Wilber’s integral theory. He passionately advocates the re-enlivening of a philosophical culture in Germany that searches for evolutionary spirituality and serves the world.

Tom Steininger gives workshops and talks in Germany and Switzerland and organizes the annual „Herbstakademie Frankfurt“, which is dedicated to the exploration of basics and consequences of a contemporary spirituality.
