The 'Wisdom of the Elders' to prevent and resolve conflict

Speech by Dr. Scilla Elworthy
Sunday, August 1st, 10:30am - 1:30pm

The Elders are an independent group of eminent global leaders, brought together by Nelson Mandela, who offer their collective influence and experience to support peace building. Scilla Elworthy helped shape the concept and choice of The Elders, and will describe their work.

She will offer an analysis of four separate layers of work to break the cycle of violence, from the political level to the spiritual, which evolved from the Israel trip with Thomas. There will be many live examples, and we shall discuss together how this work may now develop further.
